AT&T Alascom Provides Education Link to Rural Alaska
Technology to Connect Rural University of Alaska Locations
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (June 23) - The University of Alaska (UA) has selected AT&T
Alascom to provide a high-speed, secure wide-area network linking all of the university's
remote and rural locations. UA will use the new network for both student and administrative
services and enable university administrators to quickly and efficiently transfer large
amounts of data among campuses and meet via videoconferences.
The contract continues a seven-year relationship between AT&T Alascom and the University
of Alaska. Terms were not disclosed.
