Government Hill Students to Light AT&T Alascom Holiday Tree

ANCHORAGE, Alaska, Nov. 22, 2006 - AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) announced today that the holidays will be bright on Government Hill following the annual AT&T Alascom tree-lighting event on Wednesday, Nov. 22. Once again, Government Hill Elementary students, joined by Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich, will flip the breaker switches to illuminate the 157-foot tree that sits atop AT&T Alascom's 250-foot communication tower.

Following a short assembly, the students will walk to the base of the AT&T tower. Once there, 14 students in hard hats will each flip a switch that lights up one of the 14 strands of bulbs that illuminate Government Hill for the holidays.

The tree, designed and built by AT&T Alascom employees, features 850 amber, yellow and green light bulbs. The annual tree-lighting is a 16-year tradition for AT&T Alascom and the Anchorage community.
