AT&T Offers Free Days at the Anchorage Museum

Family Fun and the Exploration of Culture and Art Kicks Off on September 14

ANCHORAGE, Alaska, Sept. 5, 2008 - AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) and the Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center have teamed up to offer Free Days at the Museum, which gives free admission to the museum on the second Sunday of each month from Sept. 14 through March 8, 2009.

Free access for non-museum members is a rare treat at the Anchorage Museum, which combines a diverse collection of art and cultural experiences in a family friendly environment.

"AT&T is happy to open the museum doors for the community at these special events," said Mike Felix, president, AT&T Alascom. "Providing admittance to the amazing assortment of art and culture available at the Anchorage Museum is just a part of AT&T's goal of enriching life in our communities."

AT&T Free Days at the Museum offer fee admission all day with special events from 1 to 5 p.m. based on a different theme each month. The schedule of Free Days at the Museum and each month's theme is as follows:

  • September 14, 2008: Fiesta Familiar! (Family Fiesta): Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with arts and crafts activities and the live music of El Combo Tropical Latino. This event is co-sponsored by the Hispanic Affairs Council of Alaska.
  • October 12, 2008: Family Day: Celebrating the rich traditions of Alutiiq culture with dance performances and actvities in conjunction with the exhibit opening of Alphonse Pinart's Alutiiq mask collection.
  • November 9, 2008: Native Heritage Month
  • December 14, 2008: Holidays at the Museum featuring holiday music and an exhibit of antique dolls and toys.
  • January 11, 2009: The Freeze Winter Outdoor Exhibit Freeze Project, in conjunction with Alaska Design Forum
  • February 8, 2009: Celebrating Black History Month
  • March 8, 2009: Celebrating Maritime Month
