AT&T Celebrates Alaska Baseball Tradition

Red Boucher Night at the Ball Park Kicks Off 2008 Mayor's Cup

ANCHORAGE, Alaska, July 18, 2008 - AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) announced today that the company will host Red Boucher Night at the Ballpark on Tuesday, July 22 at Mulcahy Stadium, commemorating Alaska Baseball League founder H.A. "Red" Boucher. This annual baseball event also serves as the first game of the 2008 Mayor's Cup, and fans will have the opportunity to participate in the first-ever AT&T Homerun Challenge.

"Red Boucher was the driving force of Alaska baseball and is an influential community leader," said Mike Felix, president, AT&T Alascom. "We are honored to celebrate him and look forward to spending an evening with Red and Alaska baseball fans."

Mayor Mark Begich will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. The game begins at 7 p.m. with the Anchorage Bucs hosting the Anchorage Glacier Pilots. New this year to Red Boucher Night, the AT&T Homerun Challenge will give three fans the opportunity to step up to bat against the Anchorage Bucs pitcher. The participant to hit the ball the farthest will win an AT&T GoPhone.

"It's an honor to celebrate Alaska's baseball legend Red Boucher and to continue the traditions of the sport in the Anchorage community," said Mayor Mark Begich. AT&T has sponsored Red Boucher Night at the Ballpark as part of the Mayor's Cup event series for the past five years.

The Alaska Baseball League thrived under the leadership of Red Boucher who managed the Alaska Goldpanners baseball team for eleven years from 1958 to 1969. Boucher was also Lieutenant Governor of Alaska from 1970 to 1974.
