AT&T Donates $15,000 to Alaska OrganizationsAnchorage's Eva Foundation Receives $5,000ANCHORAGE, Alaska, Feb. 14, 2008 - The AT&T Foundation, the corporate philanthropy organization of AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T), today announced three grants of $5,000 each to Alaska nonprofit organizations. The Eva Foundation in Anchorage is the recipient of one of the donations. Special Olympics Alaska Tanana Valley in Fairbanks and Hospice and Homecare of Juneau are the other recipients. "The generosity of AT&T is appreciated by the Eva Foundation," said Lorraine Stumbaugh, executive director, Eva Foundation. "AT&T's support will contribute greatly to our mission to help the victims of abuse regain their self-confidence and independence." The Eva Foundation was created to fill a gap in the social services available to women and men who are victims of abuse. Other local organizations generously provide food and shelter. Yet, many of the self-esteem needs of the victims are not met. The Eva Foundation helps with services such as eye glasses, dental care, business clothes, résumé assistance, interview skills and hair and skin care. "I'm very pleased that AT&T is able to make this contribution," said Mike Felix, president of AT&T in Alaska. "The Eva Foundation does amazing work in the community. It provides services that help victims of abuse gain the confidence they need to move forward with their lives." The recipients of AT&T's donations in Alaska were selected by the newly formed Alaska chapter of the AT&T Pioneers. More than 350,000 people nationwide are members of the AT&T Pioneers, making it the nation's largest company-sponsored volunteer organization. In 2005, AT&T Pioneers donated more than 11.3 million hours of their time to community outreach activities. This equates to nearly $204 million worth of volunteer time. There are already more than 50 members of the AT&T Pioneers in Alaska, and each member is committed to volunteerism at the local level. Although the focus of the AT&T Pioneers is primarily volunteerism, the AT&T Foundation makes $5,000 available annually to each chapter for local grants. Because this year is the kickoff for the the Alaska Chapter, the Foundation gave triple that amount in Alaska. For more information about AT&T, please log on to www.att.com/alascom.
