AT&T to Deliver Live Web Coverage of Military Welcome Home CeremonyLong-Standing Commitment to Troop Support ContinuesANCHORAGE, Alaska, Dec. 13, 2007 - AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) today announced the availability of live Web coverage of the ceremony to welcome home Fort Richardson troops. The ceremony will be available live and for download later at http://www.att.com/alascom. Thousands of soldiers based at Fort Richardson have recently returned home from deployments in Iraq. A ceremony to honor them is being held at the Sullivan Arena from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007. The event will not be open to the public because of limited seating in the arena, but AT&T is donating its resources to stream the event on the Web so that all who are interested in witnessing it will have the opportunity to do so. For AT&T, the welcome home ceremony represents an opportunity to use its resources to help the community. "When we learned that there would be more people interested in seeing the ceremony than the Sullivan Arena can accommodate, we were happy to be able to offer an alternative way for people to view the event," said Mike Felix, president, AT&T Alaska. "We have a history of broadcasting other local activities, such as the Alaska high school football championship. The Army's welcome home ceremony is a great way to recognize our troops and the service that they give our community." "It is with great pride that we recognize the troops and their families," said Gov. Sarah Palin. "As a mother with a son who is currently serving, this event takes on an even more profound meaning, and I am honored to have the opportunity to welcome home Alaska's soldiers." "With Alaska's largest concentration of active-duty servicemen and women and veterans, Anchorage cherishes its relationship with the military," Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich said. "We honor and appreciate the sacrifices made by our service members and their families and welcome home with open arms those returning from harm's way." Gov. Palin and Mayor Begich are scheduled to speak at the event, as is U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens. In addition to streaming the ceremony live, AT&T will keep a link to the coverage active on its Web site after the event is over.
