AT&T Alascom Beautifies Government Hill
ANCHORAGE, Alaska, April 27, 2007 - AT&T Alascom, a subsidiary of AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T),will take to the streets of Government Hill as part of the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce 39th Annual Citywide Cleanup. The team of employees will remove litter and debris from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 30."Alaska is one of the most beautiful states in the nation, and we want to keep it that way," said AT&T Alascom President Mike Felix. "We believe in serving our community in practical ways, and this event is one way we can put those beliefs into action. It's a great event that really brings the city together. We're glad to be a part of it." Each year, AT&T Alascom participates in the program, along with the Municipality of Anchorage, schools, local businesses and organizations, for a week dedicated to removing trash from local streets and neighborhoods. The first day features the Blue Jeans Luncheon at the Sullivan Arena. As the week continues, city landfills provide residential dumping, free of charge, children clean their school grounds, and companies send their employees out to clean. AT&T Alascom associates have volunteered more than 8,000 hours in communities across the state since 1997, including time spent helping the Food Bank of Alaska, Bean’s Café and Habitat for Humanity.
