AT&T Alascom Employees Help the Hungry AT&T CARES Program to Support the Food Bank of Alaska
ANCHORAGE, Alaska, Nov. 8, 2006 - AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) announced today that a team of AT&T Alascom employees will give a day of their time this week to the Food Bank of Alaska, helping to sort food and assisting with clerical duties. The annual effort is part of the company's AT&T CARES program providing volunteer assistance to local nonprofits. Approximately 20 AT&T Alascom employees will work at the Food Bank's satellite location at the Sears Mall from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10.
AT&T CARES is a national program offering employees an annual paid day off to work at a nonprofit agency of their choice. This is the ninth consecutive year that AT&T Alascom employees have lent a hand to the Food Bank of Alaska.
"AT&T Alascom believes in the value of service, and the AT&T CARES program is just one way that we live that value," said AT&T Alascom President Mike Felix. "As we approach the holiday season, we at AT&T Alascom are grateful that we can serve our community by volunteering time at the Food Bank of Alaska."
AT&T Alascom employees have volunteered more than 8,000 hours in communities across the state since the AT&T CARES program began in 1997.
