AT&T Alascom Local Calling Features Quick Reference Guide
Speed Calling
- Dial 75# from your Touch Tone phone (if using a rotary phone, dial 75 and wait 4 seconds).
- When you hear a second dial tone, dial selected code (20-49) plus the telephone number (including area code for long distance numbers).
- Press # (rotary phones will be followed by two short tones to confirm).
- Repeat the process for each additional number, up to and including 49 for the last number.
- When you want to call one of these numbers, simply pick up your phone and dial a 2-digit code, followed by # if you're using a Touch Tone phone.
To change a number on your Speed Calling list, simply follow the steps above and enter the new number.
Three-Way Calling
- Call (or accept a call from) the first person who’ll be on the conference call with you.
- Briefly press and release the switch hook or the “flash” button.
- When you hear a series of short beeps, then a dial tone, dial the number of the third person who will be on the call.
- When the person answers press and release the switch hook or the “flash” button once again to reconnect the first person and start the conference call.
- If either of the other two people on the conference call with you hang up, you can continue to speak with the remaining person, if you hang up, all three connections are automatically terminated.
Intercom
- Dial your home number.
- Wait for a slow busy signal and hang up.
- Other extensions will receive a special ring to alert them to the intercom call.
Continuous Redial
- Hang up, then pick up the phone again and dial *66 from a Touch Tone phone (1166 rotary).
- Repeat Dialing will keep dialing the number every 45 seconds for up to 30 minutes and will signal you with a special call-back ring when the line is clear and your call is ready to go through.
- Pick up the phone and the connection will be completed. To cancel Repeat Dialing before the 30 minutes are up, pick up the phone and dial *86 (1186 rotary). After you hear a confirmation tone, simply hang up.
Call Forward Features
When using Call Forward Features from a rotary phone, dial the same numbers as the Touch Tone phone and then wait 4 seconds.
Fixed Call Forward

To activate dial *72
- To deactivate, dial * 73
Call Forward
- To activate, dial 72# from your Touch Tone phone.
- When you hear the second dial tone, enter the 7- or 11-digit phone number you’d like your incoming calls forwarded to.
- Hang up after you hear the activation tone.
- To deactivate Call Forward from home, dial 73# (for rotary 73, and wait 4 seconds, for 2 beeps).
Deluxe Call Forward (Away from home)
- Dial the access number, enter your phone number and 4-digit PIN then #.
- Dial 72#, listen for the second dial tone, then dial the number you want calls forwarded to and hang up.
- To deactivate, dial the access number, then enter your phone number and 4-digit PIN and #, then dial 73#.
Call Waiting
When you hear the special tone, briefly press and immediately release the telephone switch hook or “flash” button. This will put the first call on hold while you answer the second call. To return to the first call (and to switch back and forth between the two calls), simply press and release the switch hook or “flash” button again.
- To temporarily deactivate Call Waiting, so that you will not be interrupted by a Call Waiting signal during a particular call, dial *70 from a Touch Tone phone (or 1170 if you’re using a rotary phone) before placing the call.
- Call Waiting will automatically be reactivated for new, incoming calls when you hang up. Be sure to deactivate Call Waiting before using a computer modem on that line; otherwise, an incoming call may disconnect the modem.
Last Call Return
- Dial *69 (1169 rotary) after any call. If the line is clear, the call will be completed. If the number is busy, just follow the instructions you’ll hear.
- Last Call Return will check the line for 30 minutes and alert you with a special ring as soon as the line is clear and your call can be put through.
- In the meantime, you can make or receive other calls as usual.
- To cancel Last Call Return at any time before the 30 minutes are up, dial *89 (1189 rotary).
